Inscenizacja bitwy pod Grunwaldem 2012
Bitwa pod Grunwaldem jest jedną z największych bitew okresu średniowiecza. Stoczona została 15 lipca 1410 roku na polach między wsiami Grunwald, Stębark i Łodwigowo i zakończyła się zwycięstwem wojsk polsko - litewskich dowodzonych przez króla polskiego Władysława Jagiełłę oraz pogromem wojsk krzyżackich, wspomaganych przez rycerstwo zachodnioeuropejskie i śmiercią wielkiego mistrza Ulricha von Jungingena. Każdego roku na polach grunwaldzkich odbywają się uroczystości upamiętniające tamte wydarzenia. Największym z nich jest sobotnia inscenizacja bitwy, która w tym roku odbyła się 14 lipca.
Przed inscenizacją, na Wzgórzu Grunwaldzkim, przy udziale wojska i harcerzy, odbył się apel grunwaldzki upamiętniający uczestników bitwy, a także tych, którzy polegli w obronie Ojczyzny. Uroczystość rozpoczęto wciągnięciem na maszt flagi państwowej oraz odegraniem hymnu oraz Bogurodzicy. Udział w niej wzięli m.in. wiceminister kultury Piotr Żuchowski oraz dowódca wojsk lądowych gen. Marek Tomaszycki. Na zakończenie poszczególne delegacje złożyły wieńce pod pomnikiem grunwaldzkim.
Tuż po apelu, na wzgórzu pojawili się żołnierze plutonu rozpoznawczego 15 Giżyckiej Brygady Zmechanizowanej, którzy przedstawili pokaz samoobrony i walki wręcz.
Inscenizacja rozpoczęła się o godzinie 16tej. Sytuację na polu bitwy na bieżąco wyjaśniał narrator. Dodatkowo zaprezentowane zostały i objaśnione ówczesne jednostki wojskowe, jak chorągiew, czy hufiec oraz różne formacje wykorzystywane w czasie bitew, m.in. szyk w płot, polegajacy na czołowym uderzeniu armii podzielonej na trzy szeregi, czy też szyk kolumnowo - klinowy, składający się z około 30-szeregowej kolumny, na czele którego znajdował się kilkukolumnowy klin najlepiej uzbrojonych kopielników.
W trakcie inscenizacji przedstawiono najbardziej charakterystyczne momenty bitwy, takie jak przybycie poselstwa krzyżackiego z dwoma mieczami oraz śmierć wielkiego mistrza. W bitwie, która zakończyła się, zgodnie z przekazami historycznymi, zwycięstwem wojsk polsko - litewskich wzięło łącznie udział około 1300 rekonstruktorów z wielu krajów, m.in. Polski, Niemiec, Rosji, Litwy, czy Białorusi. Niezgodna z historią była jedynie pogoda. Jak wiadomo, w 1410 roku świeciło mocne słońce, natomiast w tym roku, tuż po rozpoczęciu inscenizacji, rozpadał się rzęsisty deszcz.
Inscenizacja bitwy grunwaldzkiej nie była jedyną atrakcją przygotowaną na sobotę. Przez cały dzień odwiedzać można było obóz rycerski oraz jarmark rzemiosła średniowiecznego.
Wieczorem przeprowadzone zostały turnieje konne, w tym joust, będący walką rycerzy konnych na kopie oraz boghurt, będący walką drużynową na maczugi.
